BRIEF
To celebrate nüde’s 10th anniversary, Christian decided to expand the venue into a larger space. Moving just 66 metres down the road, he took over an existing restaurant site and transformed it into a new day-to-night destination — serving coffee and breakfast by day, and cocktails and a more vibrant social energy by night.
APPROACH
At nüde, life is stripped back to what matters: good food, shared moments, and the people around us.
The concept, Simply Together, explores the idea that the richest experiences are often the simplest ones. Inspired by Nordic principles of balance, warmth, and considered living, the space is designed to bring people together in an effortless way — from long communal tables and generous banquette seating to quieter corners for slowing down and settling in.
The design reflects the beauty of connection. Natural materials, woven textures, timber, linen, greenery, and handcrafted details come together like individual threads in a larger tapestry. Each element is distinct, yet stronger as part of the whole.
OUTCOME
The result is a warm, contemporary venue that feels both refined and relaxed. Soft minimalism meets Bali’s natural rhythm through dark timbers, natural textures, earthy tones, greenery, and filtered light.
The space moves naturally between indoor and outdoor living. Curved forms and tactile materials soften the architecture, while communal seating encourages interaction and shared experience. At the heart of the interior, a signature yellow-tiled coffee and pastry counter becomes a social focal point, integrating the DJ station, merchandise, and daily activity into one expressive feature.
By day, nüde Berawa feels light, fresh, and unhurried — a place to begin the morning over breakfast, coffee, and conversation. As the day shifts into evening, the atmosphere becomes warmer, more intimate, and more atmospheric, carrying the same sense of ease into a new rhythm.
This transition is expressed not only through light, material, and atmosphere, but also through art. Three original artworks were developed in collaboration with Bali-based artist Roo, creating a visual dialogue between the spirit of the island and nüde’s contemporary, expressive identity.
A seven-metre-long canvas stretches above the window pass, angled across the interior as a defining design feature. Bold, expressive, and highly visible, the artwork becomes an important part of nüde’s identity within the space. The artworks draw from a language of abstract forms, gestural lines, organic shapes, and unexpected colour. They feel playful and spontaneous, yet carefully composed — reflecting the layered energy and creative spirit of Bali.
Alongside the artwork, the furniture introduces a softer, more playful layer to the interior through bubbly, rounded forms in dark green colour. Curved banquettes, sculptural seating, organically shaped tables, and softened edges create a sense of movement and informality, encouraging guests to relax, linger, and connect.
Together, the artwork, furniture, materials, and changing atmosphere create a space that feels expressive without being over-designed. Nothing is unnecessary. Every detail is considered to create a venue that is warm, human, and connected — a place that evolves with the day and brings people together through every transition.
