About the role
We are seeking a Full-Time Accountant & Bookkeeper to join the BrandWorks family and oversee financial operations across our group of companies. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting and bookkeeping functions for four entities under the BrandWorks group, including:
2 Food & beverage (F&B) brands based in Melbourne
2 Design Studios based in Jakarta and Melbourne
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. While support is available for Indonesian tax matters through our Jakarta-based tax consultant, this role requires a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements.
This is a remote position, open to candidates based anywhere globally. Standard working hours align with 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Melbourne time, with flexibility available depending on the candidate’s location.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across all assigned entities
Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records
Maintain and manage financial data using Xero (primary accounting platform)
Prepare and organise financial reports and documentation
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors, and consultants as required
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
Provide support on ad hoc administrative tasks related to finance and accounting
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience (minimum 2–4 years preferred) in accounting and/or bookkeeping roles
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements (highly preferred)
High proficiency in Xero is essential
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities simultaneously
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication skills with full professional proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Must provide applicable/official English Tests (e.g. IELTS/TOEFL) you have taken within the past 2 years. OR Complete the English proficiency tests below, and upload the test results to the Applicant’s Google form:
Experience working remotely or in distributed teams is an advantage
